A Food Crises Hits Home

This is one Jon Stewart hasn't covered yet. Amidst food riots, rationing at big box clubs, and a general uncertainty about the future, there is a Matzo shortage. The New York Times reports here. I know I have been scouring the area and have had no success. It wasn't until my brilliant and lovely wife decided to do a google search that we realized there really is a shortage.

I promised Ellie Matzo Brie for breakfast tomorrow - I just hope I have enough left . . . .

Your wife may be brilliant but you are a cook. Stop whining and get busy

Bless you both, but I have a recipe for Matzo that's really good. In fact it makes a great thin crust pizza. But it doesn't work for Passover any more than coke with HFCS does. The rules are like the dough must go from mixing to baking in under 17 seconds lest the native airborne yeast begin their work.

I am not by any means an observant Jew, but this time of year I need to connect to my roots, and matzo brei isn't the same without the commercial stuff!
