Simple Gifts

"'Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free" - a Shaker Dance Song

I'll let the image speak for itself:

That's a nice note. Can you stop by and teach me how to use chopsticks?

I can get by, but I was trying to teach my daughter this weekend and it wasn't working well.

Jon,

I wish I had a simple answer, but as I found out during my research I have been using them wrong since the Johnson administration!

If you weren't hungry, I would argue that you were using them correctly!

I have no idea if I'm using chopsticks correctly or not, but I can eat just about anything with them and have been for well over 45 years.

I had an aunt a little over 20 years older than I who was a WAC in the occupation forces in Japan and brought the skill back with her. She taught it to all the nieces and nephews.

That note is priceless! I donated to Donor's Choose last fall and got letters from the class (7th graders, I think) and the letters are simply priceless. Can't wait for the next country!

We had Alison's parent/teacher last night and the teacher was still raving, Mellie.

Here is what I do wrong guys: I lay the bottom on the middle finger, and pinch the top between the thumb and forefinger. The instructions said the bottom should go on the ring finger and the top between the fore and middle finger.

The upper one is pinched between the thumb and forefinger when moving, when not moving it lays on the middle finger.

That's how I do it. The friends we had Chinese New Year with are coming over for Passover, so I plan to ask them!
