Farewell Pizza the Hutt

News reports have just appeared announcing the passing of Dom DeLuise. In addition to being an actor and comedian in many favorite films - especially those of Mel Brooks, Mr. DeLuise is the author of many cookbooks. Thegirls learned to love via movies and TV - especially the Shari Lewis Passover special.

Eat This .. It'll Make You Feel Better, is a family favorite - when I post pictures of Ellie making her sauce, or lasagna, it's from Dom's recipe. They like the stuff out of that cookbook with its simple recipes for Italian-American food, and it reminds us of the Italian food we grew up with in the 60's.

So raise a glass to a man who managed years of friendship with Anne Bancroft and Mel Brooks:

Throw out your hands!!
Stick out your tush!!
Hands on your hips
Give them a push!!
You'll be surprised
You're doing the French Mistake!!
VOILA!!

Come on, try it; move the scene along
Fifty million Frenchmen can't be wrong
Wheeeeeeee!!

Throw out your hands!!
Stick out your tush!!
Hands on your hips
Give them a push!!
You'll be surprised
You're doing the French Mistake!!
..................VOILA!!

My favorite is Julius Caesar in History of the World.

Treasure Baaath!

That was a great role, but he wasn't Julius. He was Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus, aka Nero. Hey, those years as a history major at UB have to factor in somewhere in my life . . .

I stand corrected. It was Caesar's Palace though. My memory isn't completely gone. I blame the kids.

Did you had a history professor cool enough to show the movie?

Scotty Harris said...

No. The prof insisted we memorize the names of ALL the Roman provinces. Cisalpine Gaul anyone!

Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres.

Cisalpine Gaul, Transalpine Gaul, and Gallia Lugdunensis.
